Securitas has achieved the coveted President’s Award for 10 consecutive Gold Awards at the 2016 Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards.
Now in their 60th year, the RoSPA Awards are highly regarded and sought after accolades given to businesses and organisations which have shown commitment to accident and ill-health prevention.
Through the scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “To win at such a highly-regarded event as the RoSPA Awards is a great achievement for all. It recognises a commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record and raises the bar for other organisations to aspire to. We offer them our congratulations.
“This year was doubly special for our winners as their achievements were recognised as the RoSPA Awards celebrates its diamond anniversary, which is a ringing endorsement of the thousands of businesses and organisations that have committed to continuous improvement in accident and ill-health prevention.”
Phil Thomas, Securitas Environmental Health & Safety Manager said: “Through our association with RoSPA over the years, both in terms of the annual award scheme and our charitable support for their LifeForce program, it is with a certain amount of pride that we have, once again, achieved this prestigious award. It recognises the hard work all levels of personnel undertake within the organisation to operate and promote safety, and embodies Securitas’ aim to create a safer working environment for both our employees and customers alike.”
