Select Group makes kitted Cats contented

Keighley Cats are preening themselves after being kitted out with new rain jackets by Yorkshire-wide security group Select, presented to both players and coaching staff by managing director Pete Spencer.

The Cats, who play their home games at Marley Stadium, are the cream in women’s rugby. They went through last season undefeated to top their in the Co-operative Women’s Rugby League, going on to clinch the national crown when winning the Conference Grand Final.

They are well on their way to repeating the feat this year, having won all their matches in the Women’s Central division.

Shipley-based Select Group is now a leading sponsor of sports clubs across the region, both at senior and junior level. The company is a major backer of Keighley Cougars RLFC, sponsoring both the first team and the club’s Cheerleaders and Dance Academy.

In addition, as a director of Cougars, Pete Spencer has brokered a number of standalone support packages on behalf of other companies that have successfully attracted funding into the club.

Select also sponsors Keighley Town Amateur Rugby League Club, Keighley Albion FC and Silsden AFC’s Under-15’s ‘A’ team.

On a business front, Select is experiencing growth across all areas of security provision locally, regionally and nationally.

Marketing manager Sarah Waddington said: “Our continuing support of both sporting and community-based projects, particularly those involving children and young people, allows us to share our success and put something back into our own communities. It gives us a sense of purpose.”
