Security firm Select Group has supplied 50 rain jackets through a sponsorship package with Keighley Town Amateur Rugby League Club.
Dale Spencer, committee member and player with Keighley Town, which plays its home matches at Marley Stadium, said: “Thanks to Select, we’re certainly one of the best turned-out outfits in the Pennine League! The group’s generous support is a major bonus to amateur clubs like ourselves and we are always looking for both new and experienced players.”
With its open age policy, Keighley Town RLC plays a valuable role in identifying and nurturing the future stars of the sport. Players who began their careers with the club have gone on to bigger and better things in the game, including two members of Keighley Cougars’ current first team squad and four in the reserve team.
Select Group is itself one of Cougars’ main backers, having established a number of key sponsorship and assistance packages at the club. Managing director Pete Spencer also serves on the Cougars’ board of directors.
In addition, Select Group supports other sport and community-based causes across the region, with emphasis on giving a helping hand to the development of children and young people.
The company has a Yorkshire-wide presence. Its local headquarters is in Shipley, supported by a region-wide network of offices.
Select Group’s services include static security guarding, mobile security patrols, key holding and intruder alarm activation response, door supervision, private events, weddings and celebrity security, and tour management. Its fast-expanding UK Bailiffs and Enforcement division now has a national footprint.
