Universal Security, the boutique security services provider based in the City of London, has become a Recognised Service Provider working alongside the Living Wage Foundation.
The Living Wage commitment will see Universal Security offer a Living Wage option for each request for tender. This will mean that even more organisations can consider paying all their contracted staff a wage that meets the cost of living. Recognised Service Providers also commit to pay the real Living Wage to all staff working for their core business.
The London Living Wage is currently £9.75 per hour and covers all boroughs in Greater London. The UK Living Wage for outside of London is currently £8.45 per hour. These figures are set annually by the Resolution Foundation.
The Living Wage Foundation recognises and celebrates the leadership shown by employers across the UK. Currently more than 3000 employers commit to paying all their directly employed and contracted staff the real Living Wage as part of our accredited employer network. Over 90 Recognised Service Providers work with us to offer Living Wage options for contracted staff, ensuring a real Living Wage is always possible when outsourcing services.
Recognised Service Providers are highlighting the benefits of the Living Wage at every possible opportunity.
James Blake-Baldwin, Commercial Director at Universal Security said: “This is a major achievement for Universal Security and demonstrates a real commitment and acknowledgement from our clients of the increasingly complex services that our security staff provide”.
Living Wage Foundation Director, Katherine Chapman said: “The benefits the Living Wage brings to staff and business are clear. I welcome the leadership shown by the team at Universal Security on this important issue.”
