VPS Group has acquired Davis Site Security, a firm specialising in the protection of construction sites through monitored video technology and manned guarding. The move expands VPS’s reach within the UK construction sector and enhances its existing portfolio of security solutions.
The UK construction industry faces annual losses exceeding £800 million due to issues such as equipment theft, vandalism, water damage and fire. With construction activity on the rise, particularly in housing and commercial development, securing assets like plant machinery and building materials is increasingly important. Davis Site Security’s focus on technology-enabled site protection aligns well with VPS’s approach to temporary security.
With more than three decades of experience, VPS delivers integrated, risk-focused security services to clients across Europe, combining remote monitoring, physical guarding and bespoke protection strategies.
Established in 2002, Davis Site Security provides both temporary and permanent security solutions nationwide, serving clients in residential, commercial and vacant property sectors. The company currently manages around 300 sites across the UK and has seen a marked transition in recent years toward remote surveillance systems.
Paul Lewis, CEO of VPS UK & Ireland, commented: “I am delighted that Davis Site Security has joined VPS Group. The strength of their knowledge in the UK construction industry, coupled with our layered approach for temporary security solutions means we can accelerate both our company and customer growth objectives, whilst providing first-class risk mitigation and business continuity to the construction industry.”
As a family-run business, Davis Site Security was looking for a strategic partner that shares its values around people, customer service and technology.
Nick Southern, Managing Director of Davis, said: “This is a positive partnership for the future growth and success of the business. Throughout the process it was clear that there was a great fit between the two companies and a mutual want to succeed with a customer-first approach, coupled with utilising the latest technology to protect construction site assets on a temporary basis. We are excited to be part of the Group.”
Legal advisors on the transaction were Eversheds for VPS and Wright Hassell for Davis.
The acquisition forms part of VPS Group’s broader strategy of growth through customer-focused, solution-led development. This follows the earlier addition of French site security specialist Durus Security in 2024, and the Group continues to explore further acquisition opportunities in line with its expansion plans.
