Advance Security Ltd has been awarded a national security contract by Wincanton, a leader in the design and delivery of supply chain solutions.
In February 2010, Advance started working with Wincanton providing security to three sites. Service delivery improved dramatically at each site with significant increases in key performance indicator scores.
Earlier this year, Wincanton, who previously had five security providers, went to tender with the aim of maintaining competiveness in this arena.
As Warren Taylor-Smith, UK & Ireland Profit Protection Manager, Wincanton states ‘Helping us deliver value for money, in a tough environment, was certainly a prerequisite in our evaluation. However, Advance stood out from their peers in their commitment to training and officer development. Advance has always impressed with an internal culture of openness and honesty, very similar to our own, and in the past has prioritised and resolved any issues we had, making us feel we are the only contract they manage rather than just being another contract of many.’.
The contract will see Advance manage the manned guarding and security loss prevention services in thirty-five sites across the UK and ROI with TUPE transfer of approximately 170 staff.
Specialising in supply chain security solutions, Advance has significantly developed this area of their business over the past two years. Chris Fieldhouse, Managing Director, Advance commented, saying ‘I am really proud to be working with Wincanton, as a leader in their field. Our high levels of consistency, due to unique operating processes and procedures, result in excellent service levels and I am delighted our differentiation in the market place has been recognised once again ‘.
