In a celebration that underscored the extraordinary dedication of security officers, Amulet, a leading security company, hosted its fourth annual award ceremony, The Amulets, on September 21st. The event serves as an internal recognition scheme, honouring the unsung heroes of the security sector who consistently go above and beyond their call of duty to ensure public safety.
The glittering event took place amidst the captivating backdrop of the Zoological Society of London (ZSL), where over 130 attendees gathered inside an exotic safari tent, braving the elements. Despite torrential downpours, guests were undeterred, taking their drinks directly to the gorilla’s enclosure. The unique setting only enhanced the evening, offering an unparalleled experience shared by all.
The winners, announced amid anticipation and applause, not only received accolades but also took home a trophy, certification, and a much sought-after Gold Amulet. The awards ranged from the coveted Everyday Hero award, designed to honour those who consistently go the extra mile in their daily tasks, to those who had dealt with extremely challenging and specific incidents.
Judged by Infologue editor, Byron Logue, and Vice Chair of the City Security Council, Graham Bassett, the prestigious Customer Recognition Award showcased the outstanding contributions to the advancement of our industry these partnerships provide. Special mentions and thanks to The Arch Company, Chiltern Rail, the Daily Mail Group, JLL County Mall, Millennium Point, Northern Trains, Savills Borough Yards, University of York, Midlands Trains, and the hosts, ZSL London Zoo. Each finalist was evaluated on their commitment to security prioritisation, dedication to Amulet, team training and development, and efforts in driving security innovation. Their successes ranged from innovative analytics integration to elevating safety training standards and supporting local Business Watch schemes. Congratulations to the 2023 winner ZSL, London Zoo.
In the spirit of generosity, Amulet’s customers donated prizes for a raffle draw, raising funds for the global initiatives of the ZSL Conservation Charity. The prizes, ranging from a unique two-night overnight stay with the lions at ZSL to an exhilarating ride in a Chiltern Railways locomotive added to the excitement of the evening. By the end of the night, the raffle had raised an incredible £1,800 for the charity.
The ceremony concluded on a poignant note with heartfelt videos detailing the finalists’ inspiring stories.
