The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has appointed Pauline Norstrom and Uzair Osman as non-executive directors to its Operating Board. These new appointments are expected to bring valuable independent insights to the organisation.
Pauline Norstrom, currently the CEO of Anekanta®AI and Anekanta®Consulting, has extensive experience in the security sector, having served as a former Chair of the BSIA. With over two decades in the industry, Norstrom has led advancements in security technology and has developed AI risk and governance frameworks recognized by entities such as the UK Government, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the Institute of Directors.
Uzair Osman, who serves as the Managing Director of Galliford Try Asset Intelligence, brings over 18 years of expertise in fostering growth and operational excellence across sectors including construction, security, and digital innovation. He holds Fellow status with the Royal Institute of Surveyors and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). His organisation, Galliford Try Asset Intelligence, specialises in providing integrated security, fire, and AI solutions to critical infrastructure and high-value assets.
Their appointments as non-executive directors will provide the BSIA with independent insights, leveraging their specialised knowledge to support the Association’s strategic direction.

Pauline Norstrom, CEO, Anekanta Consulting, said: “I am honoured to be appointed as a non-executive director of the BSIA. “I have worked with the BSIA for over 20 years, to pioneer guidance for the safe use of emerging video analytics based AI technologies including facial recognition software. It is a pleasure to be working with the Association to continue the journey to promote good practice. I am also delighted to see more women in statutory and senior leadership roles, compared with 20 years ago.”

Both Norstrom and Osman will assume their roles immediately.
