The following is an announcement from the Security Industry Authority, the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry in the United Kingdom.
“On 18th February 2016 at Sheffield Crown Court, proceedings under the Proceeds of Crime Act were concluded against the two former Directors of Dragon Security Solutions Limited, a Yorkshire based company.
“The court heard that as a result of offences committed under the Private Security Industry Act, Ian Lindsay and Martyn Cook benefitted from approximately £21,000 worth of revenue. The pair had previously been sentenced for the offences in October 2014, receiving suspended custodial sentences and Director Disqualifications.
“Although Cook and Lindsay were issued with Proceeds of Crime Act proceedings, they have no assets with which to satisfy the benefit figure agreed in court, and a nominal amount will be collected.
Investigations Manager Nathan Salmon explains that “This case is significant and it is important that this figure was agreed. Should assets become available to them, the SIA may apply to enforce the confiscation; this fact should discourage their further involvement in administration within the Private Security Industry”.”
