MITIE helps Bristol City Council create safer neighbourhoods

MITIE, the FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing and energy services company, has secured a new three year contract with Bristol City Council to provide CCTV PSS monitoring operators.

MITIE’s operatives, supplied by its total security management business, will monitor all public space areas in Bristol’s housing estates via the Council’s control room. The officers will work closely with the local police force to provide safer neighbourhoods for the residents.

Following a competitive tender process, Bristol City Council selected MITIE based on its experience in the public sector and large client base in and around Bristol.

Commenting on the contract award, Bob Forsyth, managing director of MITIE Total Security Management said:

“We’re delighted to be working with Bristol City Council to help them create safer neighbourhoods. MITIE’s total security management business takes a risk-based approach to the provision and management of all security services, delivered through one management team to achieve cost and resource efficiencies.

“We see the future of security being technology-driven and we are investing heavily in working with our clients to implement future-proofed security strategies.”

Gordon McLanaghan, CCTV manager at Bristol City Council added:

“We are delighted to be working with MITIE. We believe that this new partnership will allow us to take what is already a quality service to the next level, benefiting not only our tenants, but all of our partners, the residents of Bristol and the many visitors to this wonderful city.”
