Broadstone, the labour as a service platform, has appointed Peter Searle as a non-executive Director to their board. Peter is an expert on staffing and recruitment with a focus on outsourcing labour supply. Searle is well versed in business scaling and his experience in the tempory staff sector will be leveraged as Broadstone seeks to challenge traditional staffing agencies.
With over 30 years of experience, Peter previously held the position of CEO of UK and Ireland at
Adecco. In addition, he was also CEO of Spring and Airswift, becoming the Executive Chairman of the latter in 2018. With a string of awards from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, Searle is an expert in scaling international businesses as well as possessing considerable start-up expertise through his time at the Start-Up Loans company.
In addition to his senior roles, Searle has worked closely with the government on education initiatives and appeared on the Select Committee for Education and was the vice-chair for the social mobility-focused, Opening Doors project, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister.
“We’re thrilled to have Peter on board. He is a seasoned recruitment professional and knows the temp industry inside out. He’s also very experienced in scaling businesses which will be crucial for us as we continue to experience rapid growth as a company, and look to expand into new geographies and new sectors. Peter’s role as a board member and an investor in Broadstone is a huge stamp of approval and his knowledge will be invaluable in helping us establish our technology-focused, ‘labor-as-a-service’ approach to temporary staffing as the default in the future” said Broadstone Founder and CEO, Tom Pickersgill.
In response to his appointment, Peter is quoted as saying, “I’m delighted to be joining the Broadstone board. This company is really making waves in the temporary staffing world and it’s great to be involved and to join at such at an exciting time. Broadstone is changing the face of temporary recruitment and challenging the high street staffing agencies that haven’t adapted to cater to the modern workforce and its needs. They’ve already seen huge success in the security market and have big plans to expand their tech-focused approach across the board. I”m looking forward to helping them on this next stage of their business journey.”
Broadstone has also made two new senior hires – Manish Dev was recently appointed CFO, while Tracey Kitchen joined as Head of Compliance in September. Tracey will focus on ensuring that the worker community is fully licensed and have all the correct permits. Manish will be responsible for the long-term value growth of the company.
