Mitie, one of the UK’s largest security and facilities management service providers has a secured a two year extension on their contract with the British Broadcasting Company (BBC). The two year extension will see Mitie providing service a wide variety of services across numerous sites.
The contract covers the provision of engineering, logistics, maintenance, cleaning and landscaping services across the BBC’s property portfolio in London, Cardiff, Glasgow and Salford. Additionally, some work will also be carried of in the Shetland and Channel Islands covering both studios and offices.
Of the contract win, Simon Venn, MD for Technical Services and Integrated Facilities Management at Mitie, said: “We are proud to be extending our relationship with the BBC as we continue to provide industry-leading facilities management services. We look forward to trialling new technology with the aim of strengthening these services further.”
In addition to the above services, the Mitie team will also be assisting the BBC in its aim to achieve net zero by 2030. This will be don through its’ Plan Zero consultancy where specialists will advise the national broadcaster on how to cut their emissions and support their broader environmental goals.
