The British Security Industry Association will launch new website today at noon
At noon on the 31st of January, the latest version of bsia.co.uk will be going live. The new platform will be a modernised upgrade that the BSIA has stated reflects their position as the voice of the professional security industry. The site will feature an improved UI (User Interface) that will be easier to navigate as well as a simplified menu function. It will also possess enhanced search capabilities, which many who used the previous iteration of the site will remember as being one of its’ weak points. West Midlands security company head and unlicensed officer prosecuted.
Last Friday, January 24th 2020, Black Country Security Services boss, Tammy Sharman and security officer, Gregory Clarke plead guilty on charges arising from a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Investigation.Ms. Sharman, who was charged with providing the services of an unlicensed security officer to a Solihull hotel, was fined £300, ordered to pay court costs of £500 and a victim surcharge of £30. SIA releases proposed mandatory Code of Conduct draft and launches consultation
On Thursday, January 9th, the Security Industry Authority launched a consultation into the draft code of conduct that they are preparing which will affect all license holders and applicants moving forward. In order to ensure that they are able to build an encompassing code that has wide support in the industry, the SIA is inviting license holders and security industry stakeholders to voice their opinions by taking part in a consultation survey. Unlicensed security director pleads guilty to charges
On Monday 2nd of December at Cwmbran Magistrates Court, Nicholas Seabrook plead guilty to operating as an unlicensed security director and failing to provide information to the Security Industry Authority (SIA). Between the 6th of August 2018 and the 13th of July 2019 ran NPS Security in Wales without obtaining the necessary license. Mr. Seabrook made bail while awaiting a full investigation into his finances. SIA to require mandatory First Aid Training for new license holders.
While not yet formally announced, the SIA has confirmed that from April 1st 2020, all new license holders will be required to undertake mandatory First Aid training.
