For 17 years, Infologue.com has ranked the UK’s biggest and best security companies by revenue. This annual list is made using self reported information from the management at these companies as well as historical financial data where necessary. We only take into account revenue drawn from the regulated UK security market. This year we have increased the number of companies listed from the Top 30 to the Top 45.
In 2021, like 2020, the security landscape has been heavily influenced by the Covid-19 pandemic. Massive government contracts combined with weakened event and retail markets has caused a lot of movement on the rankings this year.
The biggest shock arising from Covid related contracts is SSGC Ltd who have increased turnover 10 fold on the back of these contacts. They debut on the list at Number 10. SSGC have provided a copy of their accounts to attest to this meteoric rise. These will be checked after filing as well.
Acquisitions have also played a large role with Cordant and Axis being brought into Bidvest Noonan. Interserve also leaves the list following their acquisition by Mitie.
Bidvest Noonan moves up to 3rd place. Sodexo jumps 8 places from 16 to 8. Man Commercial continues to grow, entering the Top 20 for the first time.
We have had several new entrants to the rankings with Professional Security and Croma Vigilant debuting at numbers 25 and 26 respectively. Bold Security also debuts at number 27 following a massive year-on-year jump. Interr and MPD FM return to the list after not being on last year.
This year also saw a lot of stagnation with many companies not improving their revenue from last year.

*G4S has changed how they report annual revenue which has made it impossible to separate out Regulated Security activities and non-regulated in their Cash Solutions business unit. We contacted numerous senior leadership members and were unable to get a definitive figure. We used the 2020 filings Jan – Dec from their Secure Solutions Business to come up with their 2021 turnover.
** The majority of the revenue figures are reported by the companies themselves to us directly. Those with two asterisks are companies where we have had to use the most recent accounts filings. Some of these companies have non-related areas of business in their statutory accounts which Infologue.com attempts to estimate and factor out of the estimated turnover. Infologue strives for accuracy and welcomes input from the companies and will amend any verified inaccuracies as soon as possible. Therefore these figures should be treated with caution and be regarded as the best guess.
*** Professional Security came in with figures several hours after publishing which moved the rankings down for anyone between number 25 and 31. Provide SESS came in with figures on the 15th of December, pushing everyone from position 31 down. First Response Group was added on the 15th at number 29, pushing everyone below that down. Bold Security sent over their financials for the year on January 4th moving them up to 27 from 33. The GMS Group submited their accounts on the 5th of January moving them from 45 to 44. Prime Secure reported their figures on the 27th July 2022. On October 6th 2022 ABM UK reported in at number 33 moving everyone below that down one place. CN Security reported in on October 10th 2022 at number 50.
